Face the reality, most likely a potential employer will look at your LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. These employers want to know the type of personality that could be joining their team. Don’t let those few rash and emotional posts to social media be the deterrent to a job opportunity or even your current position. If you don’t want it printed on the front page of a newspaper, then don’t post it on social media.
To present yourself in a professional manner, try following these social media tips:
- Don’t overshare
- Monitor what others post on your networks
- Always take a minute and think before you post
- Avoid social media during work hours
- Don’t let your emotions get the best of you
