The Energy Americas Regional Development Manager – Pipeline and Facilities  is instrumental for establishing the direction and agenda in how to win work in the Sector. They are responsible for ensuring that we engage the right clients, in the right locations in a meaningful way and are competitive in the marketplace.

The Development Manager is instrumental in working with the Unit General Manager and specifically the Divisional General Manager(DGM) and existing Pipelines and Facilities Development Managers to build the right capability and focus in the business to convert prospects into revenue. A key aspect of their role is to support and develop effective account and sector leadership through coaching, directing and role modelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion the key account model and take a leading role in motivating, directing, and developing our account leader community.
  • Working with the extended leadership to build and develop the right capabilities in the Unit to help convert opportunities into revenue.
  • Work with Account Leaders and existing Develop Managers to maintain strong focus and ensure we deliver against business plans and sector strategies.
  • Define and prioritize key clients, identify, and engage emerging clients, lead strategic decisions on which clients to pursue/not to pursue and ensure a healthy pipeline of revenue opportunities.
  • Actively participate in key customer interactions and engagement and hold assigned key client relationships at senior level.
  • Working with DGM develop C-suite connections at key platinum and emerging clients
  • Raise our client's profile through relevant enhanced industry and media presence.
  • Detect key themes and trends in the marketplace, communicate them effectively across the division and drive appropriate action.
  • Where applicable, take a key role in preparing the annual business plan and strategies.
  • Ensure effective use of business development and proposal budgets.

Candidate Specification    

  • At least 20 years of direct experience each with increasing responsibility in the Midstream Natural Gas Sector
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, PE preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to connect with clients and convince them on how our client can be their provider of choice
  • Resident of Houston or ability to immediately relocate

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Lead our US Energy Unit pipeline and facilities business development efforts in Houston to establish our client as the trusted partner of choice for clients in the Sector.
  • Build senior level networks with midstream natural gas clients, partners, and competitors.
  • Nurture and grow a sustainable network of board level client and partner relationships, leveraging these for maximum impact 
  • Lead the establishment and drive the implementation of the Sector Strategy through the unit/division’s business plans. Detect key themes and trends in the market place, communicate them effectively across the business, and drive appropriate action.
  • Help drive accelerated global organic growth.
  • Help prioritize investment within the Sector, including acquisitions, staff bulk hires, market entries and exits, etc. at the strategic level.
  • Support operational business in enabling the best our client's expertise to be delivered in bidding and delivering work, making trade–offs, particularly in pursuit of significant market growth/strategic opportunities
