Job Description
Our client has an opportunity for a Professional Engineer, with oil and gas industry experience specifically working with pipelines. Capable of performing detailed engineering design on a variety of engineering tasks and contributing to the construction and installation process of pipeline infrastructure and systems. Exceptional project management and collaboration abilities while handling all job functions with integrity and to the highest standard.
Responsibilities
- Provide Pipeline Engineering support and Scope of Work for all projects within a team of engineers
- Oversee the pipeline route development, including temporary workspace and permanent right-of-way using AutoCAD
- Assist with the development of project scopes, execution plans, cost estimates, and project schedules
- Applying sound engineering knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of project assignments with little to no supervision or assistance from other engineers and managers
- Follow and verify that engineering practices applied are consistent with current engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and current technological innovations
- Development of pipeline alignment sheets with drafting support personnel
- Assist in the development of project scopes, execution plans, cost estimates, and scheduling
- Demonstrated awareness of safety in the design, construction, and operation of pipelines
- Providing input to key stake holders concerning potential process and design improvements related to engineering design and technology
- Following systems of quality control and checking on all projects assigned
- Assisting in preparing proposals in response to RFPs by estimating engineering hours as an engineering discipline lead
- Maintain awareness of latest advancements in design software, technical standards, and construction techniques
- Developing and maintaining quality relationships with clients
- Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary
Education, Certifications and/or Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university (Civil or Mechanical)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas and/or Louisiana is preferred
- Minimum of 4+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years of work experience in the pipeline industry
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and industry specifications
- Familiarity with design software, such as Autodesk, AutoCad Civil 3D, and MicroStation
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and design
- Excellent time management skills to verify project deadlines are met
- Leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse group of professionals working on one project or multiple projects
- Ability to coordinate more than one project at a time
