What You Are Accountable For
This position is responsible for developing engineered pipeline construction plans in a CAD/Microstation platform; receiving roughly designed concepts from engineers and transforming them into working documents.  Applications are predominantly related to the civil and mechanical engineering fields.  This position is responsible for understanding and completing drawings in accordance with client specification.

 The CAD Specialist should have advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and experience with training design practices, experience with updating client standards in an AutoCAD template and assign CAD related tasks and direct the efforts of a small team of Drafters to deliver high quality drawing package to the client on-time and within budget.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a small team of 3-5 staff that includes Drafters
  • Produce quality design layouts for utility distribution type projects
  • Oversee the design process of how a team reaches a goal and recommends efficiency improvements 
  • Evaluate staff and assign appropriate related tasks 
  • Provide training and create documents on project specific tasks
  • Responsible for CAD file to be setup properly per ENE and client CAD standards 
  • Review client standards and update AutoCAD templates as needed
  • Perform troubleshooting for CAD programs and work processes

Required Qualifications

  • 5 – 8 years of advanced CAD related experience or industry experience preferred
  • Associate degree or completion of related technical school courses or equivalent experience preferred 
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to self-manage workload and supervise a small design team to execute results
  • Ensure that all projects are well-organized and get completed on time and within budget
  • Must be able to multitask and be attentive to detail and quality
  • Strong communication and demonstration of effective collaboration in the workplace
  • Unquestioned business and personal integrity
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
