Nuclear Engineers
 
Nuclear Engineers apply the principles of nuclear science to control nuclear energy and materials and dispose of nuclear waste. They also design nuclear equipment that is used in power plants, medical machinery and other devices. The demand for nuclear engineers is expected to grow 9% in the next 10 years as nuclear power improves and the health field explores nuclear medicine.
 
Aerospace Engineers
 
Aerospace Engineers design devices that travel through air and space such as airplanes, missiles, helicopters and rockets. With advancements in technology and an estimated global demand for 27,000 new passenger planes and 40,000 commercial helicopters by 2031, the sector will continue to grow and generate high salary jobs for those with strong technical knowledge of aerospace systems.
 
Civil Engineers
 
As infrastructure continues to age and our population continues to grow, civil engineers will be needed to manage projects that rebuild bridges and roads, manage the water supply, and upgrade levees and dams as well as airports and building structures of all types. Civil engineering is considered “recession-proof,” meaning that in a healthy economy, civil engineers build new infrastructures; in a recessed economy, civil engineers repair existing ones. Civil engineers will add the most number of jobs at 51,100, for an increase of 19.4%.

Expectations for them to develop new solutions in critical areas, including air and water pollution, recycling, waste management and green energy, promise an attractive future for these engineers.
